My name is Amanda. My partner, Mike, and I have 4 daughters, 3 of whom are teenagers! I'm going to Nepal in October on a house building challenge; the girls can't wait to get rid of me for 2 weeks! My fundraising is starting to get underway, as is my fitness training!!
My financial adviser is my close friend Maria, who continues to keep me focused on the fundraising, as well as encouraging me to run 14km a day (increasing weekly!).
In 1990, I travelled around India and Nepal, backpacking with my friend, Grace. I loved Nepal; it is a beautiful country with an interesting culture. The Nepalese people I met were warm and welcoming.
Last year, I received a circular from ActionAid asking for people to join a house-building challenge in Nepal in October 2008. I saw this as an opportunity to re-visit Nepal and to give something back to a country I fell in love with.
